Job Description

Albo Climate, a growing Israel-based startup in the climate tech space is looking for a passionate, dedicated and experienced Data Engineer. Looking for an engineer to take ownership of the data in a data-centered company with full control of Albo’s ETL pipeline. The right candidate will implement automated processing pipelines for large geo-spatial datasets, especially satellite imagery. Design and maintain our ever-growing databases as well as research and incorporate new ones will be required. You will be expected to collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to put our models into production, as well as pre-process while analyzing optical, radar and lidar information in reproducible environments. Lastly, we seek someone who can implement anomaly detection pipelines and design best data practices to guide team enforcement.

 

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering

• Take initiative - It’s a fast-moving dynamic startup!

• Experience working with point cloud, geospatial raster and vector datasets (with Python, SQL and bash script).

• Experience developing and maintaining databases

• Proficiency with cloud-computing infrastructure

• B.Sc. in Data Science, Environmental Informatics, Remote Sensing, Machine Learning, SW or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Able to be independent and quickly acquire new skills and apply them

• Ability to work, collaborate and lead a multidisciplinary team

• Great communication and technical writing skills.

• Be nice and care about the environment :)

• Fluent in English

Job Description

• Develop deep learning convolutional models for classification and segmentation of large scale satellite imagery 

• Data organization, preprocessing, refinement and augmentation techniques

• Data analysis, denoising, outlier removal and anomaly detection

• Transfer learning to other ecosystems and geospatial environments

• Develop deep learning recurrent models for time series prediction and forecasting

• Collaborate with our fullstack team to deploy models

 

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Computer Science/Engineering focusing on Deep learning in the field of Computer Vision/Remote sensing/Satellite imagery

• BSc in Computer Science/Engineering (MSc/Phd advantage)

• Experience in implementing AI algorithms and familiarity with relevant frameworks ( Pytorch and Pytorch-Lightning);

• Experience working with big datasets environments and tools. 

• Experience in predicting ecosystem properties will be considered as an advantage. 

• Able to parallelize the deployment of the models for efficient usage of GPUs

• Ability to write clear, robust and reusable code, and document it well

• Strong computer science fundamentals (container management, Git, shell)

Job Description​​

• Use a plethora of geospatial data sources (especially satellite imagery and Lidar data) to predict sustainability-related properties over various ecosystems

• Conduct and present uncertainty analysis of Albo’s models

• Develop and implement algorithms for the analysis of spatiotemporal information, as well as change detection algorithms

• Develop and implement methods for downscaling geospatial datasets, as well as geostatistical models for spatial interpolation

• Emphasis on run-time optimization for scaling up the capacity of Albo’s projects

 

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as geospatial data scientist, environmental modeler or similar

• MSc in data science, environmental informatics/modeling, remote sensing or other relevant field (PhD advantage)

• Experience working with big spatiotemporal datasets (point cloud, raster and vector), tools (GEE, Python, R, QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.) and environments.

• Experience conducting uncertainty estimations, geostatistical analysis, spatiotemporal interpolation, biogeochemical modeling and/or outlier detection methods (e.g., CCDC, LandTrendR, BFast or similar) will be considered as an advantage

• Ability to write clear, robust and reusable code (preferably Python, Javascript), and document it well

• Great communication and technical writing skills

• Fluent in English
